The tears were flowing January 1, 2008

This evening I was watching Oprah (it airs twice a day in my fantastic town).  I’m not one of those die hard, cry if Oprah came to town fans, but I watch when I get the chance.  But, as I was watching started CRYING.  Okay, so I cry a lot when I watch t.v.,  but this time was different.  Oprah had a group of high school students who participated in the “High School Challenge“.  I was crying because the show documented the power of change and how it just takes one person to heal and make their community a better place to live in.  It also showed the power that one person has (and how they really doesn’t understand that power) to hurt. 64 students lives were forever changed, and I just hope that they are able to pay their experience forward.

If you want to learn more about Challenge Day, the organization that runs the program, check out their website:  www.challengeday.org.

I looked at that YouTube video and that’s pretty powerful; it seems like a great organization. Did you know they’re based in Concord?
Go Oprah! (I was just watching her episode where she went to South Africa to deliver presents and clothes to 50,000 kids). Man, that makes me feel guilty for wanting a new iPod.
